Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food service. As a key member of our restaurant management team, the Sous Chef will support the Head Chef and General Manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality food preparation.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
- Oversee food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures in compliance with health regulations
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Manage food inventory, ordering supplies as needed, and minimizing waste
- Support the training and development of kitchen team members in cooking techniques and food safety practices
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times
- Collaborate with restaurant management to plan menus, specials, and staffing schedules
- Serve as a leader during shifts, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional customer service
- Monitor food quality and presentation before serving to guests
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience with demonstrated team management skills
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety standards, and food handling procedures
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Familiarity with restaurant management practices and the food industry environment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
