Position Overview
The Jack O’ Clubs Pub is seeking a strong, hands-on
Pub Manager to lead operations in a rapidly growing town. With a major mining project under construction nearby, Wells is entering a high-demand phase with increased workforce, tourism, and long-term growth.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a busy, expanding operation and play a key role in scaling it to meet rising demand.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
Oversee all day-to-day pub operations (bar, floor, and kitchen coordination)
Lead from the front—step in during peak hours and keep service running smoothly
Maintain high standards for cleanliness, efficiency, and service
Staff Management
Recruit, train, and retain a strong team in a competitive labour market
Build and manage schedules aligned with increased demand from the mining sector
Create a performance-driven, team-oriented culture
Customer Experience
Deliver consistent, high-quality service for both local patrons and incoming workforce
Manage customer issues quickly and professionally
Maintain a welcoming, high-energy atmosphere
Financial Performance
Monitor sales, labour, and cost controls
Manage inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships
Identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve margins
Compliance & Safety
Ensure full compliance with BC liquor regulations
Enforce responsible alcohol service
Maintain a safe environment for staff and customers
Qualifications
Proven experience managing a pub, bar, or restaurant
Strong leadership and team-building skills
Experience in high-volume or camp/mining-related environments is an asset
Solid understanding of scheduling, inventory, and cost control
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and peak seasonal periods
