We're looking for a Civil 3D Take-Off Specialist who enjoys working with drawings, data, and technology to produce accurate quantity take-offs that help our estimating team win work. If you're highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced with Civil 3D and construction drawings, we'd like to hear from you.
This position works closely with our Estimators and Project Managers and plays a key role in our preconstruction process.
What You'll Be Doing
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from Civil 3D models and engineering drawings.
- Analyze plans, specifications, and contract documents for municipal and heavy civil projects.
- Generate earthworks, excavation, grading, utility, asphalt, concrete, and material quantities.
- Create and maintain quantity reports for estimating and project planning.
- Assist Estimators in preparing competitive bid submissions.
- Identify drawing discrepancies, missing information, and constructability concerns.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and estimating staff throughout the bidding process.
- Maintain organized electronic files and take-off documentation.
- Assist with value engineering and alternative construction methods where appropriate.
- Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and Civil 3D workflows.
What We're Looking For
- Experience using Autodesk Civil 3D for quantity take-offs and model analysis.
- Understanding of municipal servicing, road construction, site development, and heavy civil projects.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tender deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Civil Engineering Technology diploma or related education.
- Experience in heavy civil estimating or quantity surveying.
- Knowledge of OPSS/OPSD specifications and Ontario municipal standards.
- Experience with GPS models, machine control, or digital construction workflows is considered an asset.

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
