Emerald Hills Eye Care is looking for a student or licensed optician to join our growing office in Sherwood Park. We offer a unique space with advanced eye care offerings and treatments and strive to offer unique and independent eyewear with all the latest lens technology. Being locally owned, we are proud members of our community and treat our patients more like family than customers.
Responsibilities
· Greeting patients and assisting at front desk.
· Discussing eyewear and lens offerings with the patient based on their lifestyle demands and budget.
· Dispensing frames and lenses.
· Educating patients on the newest eyewear technologies and products available.
· Submitting insurance claims and receiving payments.
· Edging lenses for eyewear.
· Adjusting and repairing eyewear.
· Becoming cross-trained on front desk duties including scheduling and pretesting patients.
· Inventory management.
Requirements
· Licensed Optician or student currently enrolled in an opticianry program or has interest in pursuing a career as an Optician and willing to enroll in the Opticianry program through NAIT.
· Excellent communication and phone skills.
· Proficient computer knowledge. We use RevolutionEHR as our medical record system.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Reliable and punctual
· Friendly and customer service-oriented.
· Previous optical experience an asset.
