One of the Nunavut housing associations is looking for a red seal carpenter to join their maintenance department team.
The ideal candidate should have lots of knowledge and skill in installing windows and doors (to code), constructing exterior stairs and landings (to code), interior renovations (floor cvt, drywalling, minor structural, painting, exterior staining, mold removal). Essentially all the skills and knowledge from having several years in the residential renovation/restoration industry. The candidate will also have a positive attitude, be a team player and be self motivated.
This is a 12 month term position (no turn-arounds) and pays approx $55 per hour. 40 hour work week with the possibility of some overtime.
- Please do not apply if you do not possess a Red Seal (Carpentry)
- Must have valid driver's license to drive in Canada
- Must currently legally reside in Canada and be prepared to travel to Nunavut in approximately 2 weeks.
- Previous work in the Arctic would be a definate asset.
Note: Airfare to and from the community: Cost is covered by the employer.
Once in the community, subsidized housing is available for this position.
