Job Title: Pastry Chef / Baker

Position Overview: The Frobisher Inn is seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Chef / Baker to join our culinary team full-time. This role is ideal for someone passionate about baking and pastry arts, with the versatility to support broader kitchen operations. You’ll be responsible for producing high-quality baked goods and seasonal desserts, while also assisting with general food preparation and maintaining a clean, organized workstation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, breads, and desserts for daily service and special events
- Develop and execute seasonal dishes in collaboration with the Executive Chef
- Assist with prep work for other kitchen stations as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of your workstation and shared kitchen areas
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients and finished products
- Follow all food safety and operational guidelines
- Contribute to menu planning and innovation with a focus on quality and presentation
- Support kitchen operations during peak service periods and special functions
- Perform proper cleanup of workstations and other areas as required by operational needs
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a pastry chef, baker, or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and kitchen safety standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Culinary certification or equivalent experience preferred
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
