Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting Kitchen Helpers / Sous Chefs on behalf of one of our valued clients in Chester, NS. We are looking for motivated individuals with kitchen experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy kitchen with an immediate start available.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and cooking
- Prepare menu items on both the hot and cold line
- Support plating and food presentation during service
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
- Work closely with the kitchen team during busy service periods
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of kitchen, line cook, kitchen helper, or sous chef experience
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when needed
- Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
Schedule
- Start Date: As early as next week (ASAP)
- Contract Length: 3–4 months
- Schedule is determined by the client based on business needs
- Shifts may include:
- 10:30 AM – 10:30 PM (up to 12-hour shifts)
- Split shifts (10:30 AM – 4:00 PM and evening shift)
- Operation runs 7 days per week, including weekends
Requirements
- Non-slip shoes (required)
- Apron (required)
- Hairnet provided by the client
- Dress code: T-shirt and shorts that extend to the knees
Pay Rate
- $25.00 per hour
- Opportunity for immediate start
- Temporary contract lasting approximately 3–4 months, with the possibility of extension based on business needs
