Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapy Assistant to support our healthcare team in providing exceptional patient care in Long-term care . This role involves assisting licensed physiotherapists in delivering treatment plans, preparing patients for therapy sessions, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, experience in long-term care settings, and a passion for helping seniors recover and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Assist physiotherapists with patient assessments and therapy sessions
- Prepare treatment areas and ensure all equipment is sanitized and ready for use
- Support patients during exercises and mobility activities, ensuring proper technique and safety
- Monitor patient progress and report any concerns or changes to the supervising physiotherapist
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes
- Educate patients on home exercises and post-treatment care instructions
- Adhere to hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control procedures
Requirements
- Prior experience in long-term care settings is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of patient care procedures and medical terminology
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and team members
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Certification or training related to physiotherapy assistance is advantageous
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
