About the Role
Rugged Edge Holdings Ltd. is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Shop/Yard/Warehouse Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations at our Smithers headquarters. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for coordinating yard, shop, and warehouse activities, supervising staff, managing equipment and inventory, and ensuring operational readiness for exploration projects.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, leads by example, and is comfortable balancing physical work with supervisory responsibilities in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Operations:
· Lead and supervise shop, yard, and warehouse labourers, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
· Coordinate daily operations including loading/unloading, equipment staging, and preparation of materials for exploration camps.
· Provide hands-on support as needed and lead by example in a fast-paced, operational environment.
Warehouse, Yard & Inventory Management:
· Oversee yard, shop, and warehouse organization, cleanliness, and workflow efficiency.
· Manage inventory control, receiving, order preparation, and documentation.
· Ensure tools, materials, and equipment are properly stored, maintained, and ready for deployment.
Equipment & Safety Oversight:
· Safely operate and oversee the use of mobile equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and trailers.
· Enforce company safety policies, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
· Monitor equipment condition and coordinate basic maintenance or repairs as required.
Physical & Hands-On Work:
· Participate in shop, yard, and warehouse tasks as required, including regular lifting and handling of materials over 50 lbs.
· Work in outdoor, warehouse, and shop environments in varying weather conditions.
What We’re Looking For:
· 2–5 years of experience in a shop, yard, or warehouse environment, including supervisory or lead-hand experience.
· Demonstrated experience with equipment operation and warehouse management.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with DATS is an asset.
· Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or greater) and a clean Driver’s Abstract.
· Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work in outdoor, warehouse, and shop environments in varying weather conditions.
· Willingness to work weekends and extended hours as operational needs require.
