Our school was named after Dr. Roy Wilson, a passionate educator, lifelong learner and dedicated school board trustee. As a school, we focus our efforts on creating optimal learning environments for our students, building long-standing positive relationships with families and establishing a culture of wellness for all. SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Experience working with students with diverse needs would be an asset

Preference will be given to applicants with an understanding of childhood development

Building strong relationships with students, helping students learn, and seeing the best in every student in an inclusive school setting
- Assisting and supporting students through individual support plans and/or behaviour support plans
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students and adults

Work as part of a team, take direction and follow student and classroom programs.

Enthusiastic and motivated to help students succeed

Ability to work in a flexible learning environment and make adjustments for classroom or individual child needs

Supervision duties (recess, classroom, lunch, etc.)

We will require all successful applicants to provide a police record check with vulnerable sector check, an intervention record check and also complete a physical demands assessment.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent experience.

Experience and/or training working with students in school setting preferred.

Ability to work with children with varied ages, skills level, needs and abilities specifically early learning to grade 6.

First aid would be an asset
