This position is casual and on-call in nature, with hours varying based on operational requirements.
Seapark Industrial Glove Recycling ("Seapark") is an innovative Niagara Region company providing environmentally responsible cleaning solutions to our customers. As a market leader in industrial laundry services, we specialize in glove cleaning, shop towels, uniforms, and related textile services.
We are currently seeking a Casual DZ Truck Driver to join our team. The successful candidate must be able to travel throughout the Niagara Region and Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and provide coverage as required to support operational needs during employee absences, vacations, increased workloads, and other staffing requirements.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Casual DZ Truck Driver will be responsible for completing customer pickups and deliveries while maintaining a high standard of safety, professionalism, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles in accordance with all applicable transportation laws and regulations.
- Complete scheduled customer pickups and deliveries throughout the Niagara Region and GTA.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Ensure all loads are properly secured and transported safely.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and delivery documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and management.
- Assist with loading and unloading products as required.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and customer site requirements.
- Represent Seapark professionally at all times.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of DZ driving experience.
- Valid Ontario DZ Driver's Licence.
- Clean Driver's Abstract.
- Proof of being insured as a driver for a minimum of three years.
- Must be insurable to operate a heavy-duty commercial vehicle.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, and move materials weighing between 40 and 200 lbs.
Driver Experience Verification
Candidates must provide a letter of experience from a previous employer or workplace insurance provider that includes:
- Driver's name and licence number.
- Dates of employment as a driver.
- Type and weight of vehicle(s) operated.
- Details of any accidents or traffic violations during employment.
- Signature of the Fleet Manager, Owner, or authorized representative.
- Company contact information.
- Company letterhead.
Working Conditions
- Casual, on-call position with work scheduled as operational needs require.
- Advance notice of shifts will be provided whenever possible.
- Hours and start times may vary.
- Home daily following completion of assigned routes.
- Extended periods of sitting, driving.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
