Position Summary
The Baker - Bread will collaborate with bakery owners to complete daily production of traditional Portuguese breads. This role focuses on consistency, quality, food safety, and teamwork in a high-volume bakery environment. The Baker is expected to follow established recipes and systems, communicate clearly, and take pride in the products that represent our name.
Core Responsibilities
Baking & Production
- Weigh, scale and mix ingredients
- Place products in freezer after mixing
- Prepare, proof, and bake dough according to our traditional recipes
- Follow daily prep and production lists to meet volume and timing needs
- Portion, shape, and finish products to bakery standards for size, consistency, and presentation
- Use ingredients responsibly and follow FIFO practices
Quality & Standards
- Check finished products for quality, freshness, and accuracy before display or packaging
- Set aside and report items that do not meet standards
- Ensure workstation(s) are clean before leaving
Teamwork & Culture
- Communicate low stock, delays, or issues to supervisors promptly
- Work respectfully with kitchen and front-of-house staff
- Support team flow during high-volume or peak periods
- Maintain a calm, professional attitude in a fast-paced environment
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 1 year experience in baking bread
- Must be able to work in a high-volume, fast paced environment with minimal supervision
- Be comfortable with lifting heavy bags of ingredients & dough (up to 50lbs) on a regular basis
- Attention to detail
- Be available between 3:30am-12pm, five days a week
- Experience baking in a Portuguese bakery an asset

Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour

Experience:
- professional bread making: 4 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
