Freelance Videographer / Backup Shooter — June Contractor Work

CrushSocials is looking for a reliable freelance videographer / backup shooter for several client shoot days throughout the month of June.
This role is primarily for June only for now, but there is strong potential for ongoing work if the fit is right. We have various clients being booked and need a second shooter to help capture company BTS, supporting angles, extra b-roll, and additional footage that helps speed up production days.
We create social media content for local businesses, service companies, trades, home improvement brands, talent agencies, and owner-operated businesses.
Role Overview
You would be working alongside the main shooter to help capture extra content throughout the day. This may include:
- Behind-the-scenes footage
- Supporting b-roll
- Extra angles during owner interviews
- Job site/process footage
- Client interaction footage
- Product/service demonstrations
- Vertical video content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Meta ads
- Simple social media clips for business owners and brands
This is not currently a full-time role. However, we are looking for a go-to videographer who is interested in growing with the company as more client work comes in.
Location / Travel
Shoots will mainly be in Vaughan and surrounding areas, but multiple locations may be required depending on the client.
A vehicle is required, especially for anyone being considered for ongoing shoot work. Some shoots may involve driving between client locations, job sites, studios, offices, or customer testimonial locations.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has at least 1–2 years of videography experience
- Owns their own equipment
- Is highly motivated and reliable
- Has decent communication skills
- Can work professionally around business owners and clients
- Understands how to capture clean, usable social media video
- Can follow a shoot plan and take direction
- Can move quickly during a production day
- Is interested in recurring contractor work
- Wants to grow with a young social media marketing company
The ideal person understands how to deliver quality footage, capture strong b-roll, and help make shoot days run faster and smoother.
Bonus if you are comfortable directing people on camera, giving simple prompts, and helping business owners look natural on video. If you are not confident with this yet, you should at least be willing to learn.
Equipment Required
You must have your own equipment for now.
Preferred equipment includes:
- DSLR or mirrorless camera
- Lenses suitable for business/social media content
- Portable lighting
- Audio gear
- Tripod
- Gimbal preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to shoot clean vertical video

Ongoing Work Potential
For the right person, recurring pay per client per month may be negotiated.
The goal is to build a reliable contractor relationship where you can potentially become a regular videographer for CrushSocials client shoots.
Contractor Agreement
Before being hired, selected contractors must sign a contractor agreement, including confidentiality, client protection, and non-compete / non-solicitation terms where applicable.

Pay range is $20–$100/hour, depending on:

- Gear
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to direct people on camera
- Reliability
- Overall fit for recurring client work
