The Opportunity
Reporting to the Team Leader, Field Property, you are accountable for the investigation and settlement of Personal property damage claims.
What to Expect
- Accepting notice of claims and working with customers and preferred vendors to resolve claims quickly and efficiently
- Managing moderate to complex personal property claims
- Confirming policy coverage by ensuring the facts of the claim fall within the scope of Definity claims policies
- Maintaining detailed file records by entering pertinent data into the appropriate systems
- Processing claims payments within level of authority after verifying claimants’ entitlements
Initiating salvage and subrogation procedures on assigned files

What you Bring
- Post-secondary education (degree or diploma), CIP designation (or in progress), or relevant property handling experience
- Minimum 8 years of property claims handling experience
- Experience scoping and estimating losses
- Familiarity with CICS, IMS, Xactimate and CDS system is an asset
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Professional, friendly and courteous in all interactions, whether with customers or co-workers
- Perform well in a busy operation and remains calm under pressure
- Team player adaptable to a changing environment

Salary Range: $59,300 - $109,200
Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.
