We are looking for an experienced and reliable Cashier to join our fast-paced fish and chips restaurant in Markham, Ontario.
The ideal candidate is friendly, organized and able to provide excellent customer service during busy periods. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage both dine-in and takeout customers efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take dine-in and takeout orders accurately.
- Process cash, debit and credit card payments.
- Regularly check dine-in tables and make sure customers are not left waiting to order.
- Answer customer questions about menu items.
- Manage lineups and help keep the front area organized.
- Handle customer concerns calmly and professionally.
- Work closely with kitchen staff during busy periods.
Requirements
- Previous cashier experience is required.
- Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant is strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Comfortable handling cash and using a POS system.
- Able to stay calm and organized during busy periods.
- Reliable, punctual and responsible.
- Able to multitask and work well as part of a team.
- Available to work [weekends and holidays, as required].
