Following a successful inaugural holiday season, Hallmarkish, the hilarious unauthorized Hallmark movie musical parody, returns to Toronto for the 2026 holiday season. We are seeking an experienced Company Manager to join the production team and help deliver an exceptional experience for our cast, crew, creative team, venue partners, and audiences.

About the Role
The Company Manager serves as the Producer’s representative and reports directly to the Executive Producer and Producer. Working closely with the Stage Manager and production leadership team, this role oversees the day-to-day operational, administrative, and personnel needs of the production while fostering a positive, professional, and collaborative company culture.
This is a full-time fixed-term contract position running from November 16, 2026 through December 31, 2026, encompassing rehearsals, technical rehearsals, previews, performances, and closing activities. The successful candidate must be available for the full contract period and prepared to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the production schedule.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized theatre professional who can quickly integrate into an established team, build strong relationships with artists and crew, and confidently manage the operational demands of a live production throughout a busy holiday performance season.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Company Leadership & Culture
- Serve as the primary company leader and establish a positive, respectful, inclusive, and professional culture throughout the production.
- Act as the primary point of support for company members, helping to foster a productive and collaborative working environment.
- Ensure company members adhere to production policies, procedures, workplace expectations, and applicable union agreements.
- Work closely with production leadership to maintain company morale, communication, and professionalism.
Operations & Administration
- Administer payroll and maintain accurate personnel records and documentation.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities for company members.
- Maintain production records and company-related reporting as required by the Producer and Executive Producer.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to production operations and engagement management.
Presenter & Venue Relations
- Audit nightly box office statements and attendance reports.
- Finalize engagement settlements and prepare required financial reporting.
- Liaise with venue representatives and presenters to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and booking agreements.
- Serve as a professional representative of the production with venue staff, partners, and external stakeholders.
Travel & Accommodations
- Coordinate transportation and accommodation arrangements for cast, crew, and creative team members who are not local to the Toronto area.
- Manage travel logistics throughout technical rehearsals and performance periods.
- Resolve travel and accommodation issues quickly and effectively as they arise.
Human Resources & Company Care
- Serve as the Human Resources representative for the production.
- Assist with employee relations matters, conflict resolution, and workplace concerns.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and healthy work environment for all company members.
- Exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive matters.
Production Support
- Partner with the Stage Manager and production leadership team to support the successful day-to-day operation of the show.
- Ensure compliance with applicable workplace policies, safety requirements, and union agreements, including IATSE regulations as required.
- Identify operational challenges proactively and implement practical solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- 1–3 years of Company Management experience or comparable professional theatre management experience.
- Strong understanding of theatrical production management, touring logistics, and live event operations.
- Experience working with presenters, venues, settlements, and box office reporting.
- Experience administering payroll and managing production-related administrative processes.
- Experience coordinating travel and accommodations for groups of artists, crew, or production personnel.
- Experience supporting workers’ compensation, insurance matters, or employee relations is considered an asset.
- Experience working within unionized environments, including IATSE agreements, is preferred.
- Experience working with other performing arts unions and associations is considered an asset.
