Beck Engineering has a rewarding opportunity for a Junior Civil/Structural Engineer or Engineer in training.
Beck Engineering is a civil/structural consultant engineering firm based in Calgary, Alberta. We have operated successfully in the Oil & Gas industry since 1976. We offer engineering and drafting services for projects worldwide, which vary from small devices or simple structures to providing a full team of engineers and drafters to support facilities with over $300 million total investment cost with complex foundation and structural solutions.
This position requires a university degree in civil/structural engineering, eligibility for registration with APEGA, and 1 to 3 years of experience. Excellent organization and time management skills along with strong verbal & written English communication skills are essential. Candidates should be prepared to add to their civil and structural design techniques from our dedicated and supportive team consisting of experienced individuals with diverse industry knowledge.
While working closely with a mentor you will learn to design solutions for a wide variety of assignments related to industrial facilities. The following are learning opportunities:
- Investigations, feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed designs, and preparation of associated reports, calculations, specifications, etc.;
- Fit-for-purpose designs that meet technical, regulatory, environmental, safety, operating, and maintenance requirements;
- Collaboration with project managers, project engineers, discipline engineers, discipline designers, and other team members in a multi-disciplinary environment.
