Logican Technologies is looking for an experienced SMT Manufacturing Engineer to join our Edmonton-based manufacturing team. This role is suited for a highly capable, self-directed individual who can take ownership of projects and drive them to completion with minimal supervision.
Applicants must be Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents.
No work permits will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Interpret customer documentation, drawings, and specifications
- Write, modify, and optimize SMT programs
- Troubleshoot and resolve production and quality issues
- Create and maintain work instructions and manufacturing documentation
- Drive process improvement initiatives
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities
- Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles
- Complete and support First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
- Implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
Qualifications & Skills
- Prior experience in SMT manufacturing
- Familiarity with electronic components and manufacturing standards like ISO A-610 and J-STD-001
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of assignments
- Comfortable using creative thinking and experimentation to solve problems
- A background check will be required after hiring
Preferred / Helpful Experience:
- Lean manufacturing training
- DFM and FAIR filing experience
- Design of Experiments (DoE)
- Fusion 360 or similar CAD tools
- 8D, failure analysis, and root cause analysis
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM – 12:30 AM. Train on Day Shift 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for first 3 (three) months
- Occasional overtime as required
