Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Loss Prevention Security Guard to join our team. This role is vital in safeguarding preventing theft and maintaining a secure environment for staff and customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in law enforcement or security.
Responsibilities
- Monitor premises through surveillance systems, including CCTV, to detect suspicious activity or security breaches
- Conduct regular patrols of the facility to ensure safety and security protocols are followed
- Observe customer and employee behavior for signs of theft or misconduct
- Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, or emergencies according to established procedures
- Document incidents accurately and thoroughly in reports for future reference
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary during investigations or incidents
- Enforce company policies related to loss prevention and security measures
- Maintain a visible security presence to deter potential theft or misconduct
Experience
- Prior experience in law enforcement, private security, or loss prevention is highly preferred
- Knowledge of surveillance systems, CCTV operation, and monitoring techniques
- Strong understanding of loss prevention strategies and best practices
- Excellent observational skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and professional during high-pressure situations
- Good communication skills for reporting incidents clearly and effectively
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to company policies
Requirements
- Must reside in Ottawa
- Must be CPR certified
- Must be Use of Force certified
- Must be able to travel to assigned sites independently
