THE OPPORTUNITY:
Our team is looking for a Journeyman Mechanic to do regularly scheduled maintenance and repair service work on our equipment at construction sites throughout the city. You will work in shop and operate a company provided vehicle for on site service, specialty tools will and equipment will be provided as required to perform your duties but the candidate should have their own basic mechanic tools for this job.
With safety in mind, you will perform the following primary duties throughout the day to ensure our customers keep their construction sites warm and powered throughout the winter:
· Perform repairs, service and oil changes on a variety of construction related equipment from Diesel & Propane Generators to Skid Steers and Small Engine equipment in the field and at the shop.
· Potentially deliver and pick up other small equipment to sites as required.
· Other work as assigned
· Be an active participant in our safety program
Our compensation package includes a competitive hourly rate of pay, health benefits after 3 months and the opportunity for overtime in our busy seasons.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Class 5, with a clean driver’s abstract
· High School Diploma or higher.
· Previous experience in the construction, HVAC, or equipment rental industries an asset but not required.
· Must be able to speak clear English and communicate effectively by phone, text, and email.
· Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn and follow direction.
· Previous experience operating a forklift and crane truck is an asset but not required.
· Ability to lift 80lbs, traverse uneven ground and work in outdoor conditions
Training will be provided for any work and certificates you require to work safely.
