The Role:
Our client is seeking a
Manager, Accounting & Corporate Services to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, treasury functions, compliance, and corporate services, while also supporting HR and administrative functions. Leading a team of 3, this role blends hands-on technical accounting ownership with people leadership - protecting the integrity of financial information, strengthening internal controls, and keeping corporate services running smoothly to support the broader business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, and reconciliations
- Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements
- Monitor cash flow and financial performance against budget
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policy
- Lead year-end review coordination with external consultants, banks, and regulatory bodies
- Oversee accurate, timely tax and government remittances
- Manage corporate credit card processes, office administration, and facilities coordination
- Lead payroll administration, including onboarding/offboarding and bi-weekly payroll approvals
- Manage group RRSP enrolments in partnership with benefits and payroll providers
- Supervise and mentor a small team of accounting and administrative staff
- Set performance objectives and provide ongoing coaching and development
- Identify and drive process improvements across the finance function
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- CPA designation, MBA, or actively pursuing a designation and close to completion
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance
- Strong Excel and MS Office proficiency
- Ability to turn financial data into clear insight for leadership
- Experience managing payroll and/or HR functions is an asset
- Supply chain or logistics industry experience is an asset
- Familiarity with Sage 300 ERP, Sage SEI, Power BI, or Synapse WMS is an asset
