Reporting to the Superintendent, Health Services, the Occupational Health Nurse will assist in managing activities related to health services. Based at the Windfall site, located in the Nord-du-Québec region, the occupational health nurse will work on a schedule of 15 days on followed by 13 days off. Transportation, accommodation and meals provided.
Duties and responsibilities

Assess the physical and mental condition of workers who consult them;

Provide care and monitor workers’ health status, including emergency situations;
-
Carry out medical evacuations as needed;
-
Establish and maintain up-to-date medical files for workers;
-
Manage occupational and personal disability files and support employees’ return to work;
-
Follow up on pre-employment medical examinations;
-
Follow up on annual medical examinations for emergency response teams;
-
Participate in developing and maintaining nursing care procedures;
-
Participate in biological monitoring of workers’ exposure to various physical agents present in their work environment;
-
Promote health through various means;
-
Participate in the implementation and maintenance of initiatives related to psychosocial risk management;
-
Participate in implementing education and awareness programs aimed at improving workers’ health (health and wellness program);
-
Work closely with managers from various departments;
-
Train, inform and advise employees on health-related matters, including facilitating meetings and various activities;
-
Collaborate and foster synergy with the HSE department, particularly regarding CNESST prevention and claims files and any other shared files;

Participate in training activities for emergency response teams;
-
Perform drug and alcohol screening as needed;
-
Maintain the inventory of medical supplies;
-
Assist the supervisor with their tasks;
-
Ensure that the Company complies with all occupational health standards;
-
Participate in improvement initiatives;
-
Comply at all times with occupational health and safety and environmental policies and rules, and ensure these rules are respected by staff;

Perform any other duties related to the Occupational Health Nurse position that are relevant to the success of the project.
Required qualifications
-
University or college diploma in nursing combined with at least five (5) years of experience as a nurse;
-
Member in good standing of the OIIQ;
-
Training and experience in an expanded-scope role;
-
Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Technical skills
-
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, etc.);
-
Bilingualism (English and French);
-
Experience in the mining or industrial sector and in emergency care (e.g., clinic/dispensary or hospital setting);
-
Experience in disability case management (an asset);
-
ACLS and EPICC training (an asset);
-
Experience working in remote regions.
