Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Developer with strong expertise in PostgreSQL to join our growing development team. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications and APIs, leveraging technologies such as React.js, NextJS, Express, PostgreSQL, and Python. Knowledge of AWS is considered a strong asset.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working within existing enterprise applications, designing scalable solutions, mentoring other developers, and contributing to technical architecture decisions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects across healthcare, government, First Nations, and enterprise sectors that require deep technical knowledge and collaborative problem-solving skills.

Duties
- Design, optimize, and troubleshoot complex PostgreSQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemas.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using NextJS, React, Express, and Node.js.
- Contribute to application architecture, technical design, and development standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Review code, mentor junior and intermediate developers, and promote development best practices.
- Manage code repositories using Git and GitHub to ensure version control and code quality standards are met.
- Participate in pull request reviews and contribute to a collaborative development process.
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Assist with deployment processes, CI/CD pipelines, and production support activities.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools where appropriate while maintaining strong engineering fundamentals and independent problem-solving abilities.
Skills
- Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL, including database design, query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
- Extensive experience developing modern web applications using React, NextJS, Node.js, and Express.
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and integrating with third-party systems.
- Strong understanding of Git workflows, pull request processes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working within existing codebases and contributing to long-term application maintenance and enhancement.
- Experience mentoring developers and participating in technical leadership activities.
- Familiarity with Material UI is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Linux administration for deployment, troubleshooting, and application support.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AWS services and cloud-native applications.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation.
- Experience in healthcare, government, education, or other regulated environments.
- Experience with enterprise software implementations and integrations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50.00-$70.00 per hour
