RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems
- Maintain and optimize machinery, including component fabrication, and equipment testing
- Detect equipment irregularities, identify root causes, and proactively implement preventative and corrective actions to reduce downtime
- Conduct and document scheduled preventive maintenance using condition monitoring tools
- Assist in equipment installation, commissioning, modification, and calibration
- Complete maintenance logs, testing records, and compliance documentation
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, packagers, clients, and managers to coordinate activities and report issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address facility-related concerns and optimize processes
- Work independently on complex issues using sound judgment and selecting appropriate methods and tools for resolution
- Adhere to all Health and Safety Regulations ensuring a safe work environment
- Update spreadsheets for parts on all equipment
- Repairing or replacing malfunctioning components such as motors, gears, belts etc.
- Assisting in the initial setup of production jobs or adjusting when required
- Working towards continuous improvement of the machinery
- Adhering to safety guidelines and industry regulations by wearing (PPE) and following lock out/tag out (LOTO) procedures when working with energized machines
- Ensuring machines are calibrated for optimal performance, accuracy and quality control
- Help assist with operator training of mechanical equipment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12 diploma, post-secondary education with millwright certification is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in a production environment preferably in a packaging environment
- Excellent teamwork, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of GMP’s and SOP’s
- Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma concepts is an asset
- Ability to work all shifts
SCHEDULE:
- Weekends: Friday – Sunday, 6:00am – 6:30pm
