Job Summary:
The Food Service Worker is responsible for providing excellent customer service while assisting with the daily operation of a busy cafeteria. This role includes food preparation, serving customers, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, operating a cash register, stocking products, and ensuring the dining area remains clean and welcoming.
Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve food according to recipes and portion standards.
- Provide friendly, efficient customer service.
- Operate the cash register and process customer transactions accurately.
- Replenish food, beverages, and supplies throughout the shift.
- Maintain cleanliness of food service areas, dining rooms, and kitchen equipment.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Assist with dishwashing, cleaning, and other duties as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient daily operations.

- FoodSafe Level 1 Certification is an asset.
- Familiar with the use of a cash register is an asset.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage heavy workload.
- Ability to work both independently and in team setting as required.
- Good command of English language, both verbal and written and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food is considered an asset.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
