We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Instrumentation and Maintenance Technician to join our team to support local industrial and manufacturing clients with troubleshooting, maintenance and instrumentation tasks. This role is ideal for someone who wants extra income, flexible hours and real‑world experience in electrical, mechanical or automation work. This role requires a strong foundation in industrial maintenance, electrical systems and mechanical knowledge, with the ability to interpret schematics and work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in industrial maintenance, electrical systems or a related manufacturing environment.
- Education: Completion of a relevant technical diploma is preferred.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of instrumentation systems including sensors, controllers and other electrical components.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately.
- Install, modify and repair instrumentation equipment in accordance with safety standards and technical specifications.
- Utilize AutoCAD drawings for installation planning and modifications.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to troubleshoot automation systems and improve process efficiency.
- Conduct inspections of electrical systems, including low voltage wiring and connections, to prevent failures.
- Assist in the development of preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues promptly while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation of repairs, calibrations, and system modifications for compliance and future reference.
Skills
- Strong background in industrial maintenance with experience in manufacturing environments.
- Proven electrical experience, including low voltage wiring and troubleshooting.
- Mechanical knowledge related to machinery maintenance and repair.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and understanding of automation systems.
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings; proficiency in AutoCAD is a plus.
- Familiarity with sensors, CNC machinery and other automation components.
- Knowledge of industrial electrician practices and safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation for effective communication across teams.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
