Job Description
Reporting to the Production Planner, we are actively looking for a Production Technician. This position will assemble our paper systems products along with other assembly tasks. This position requires a self-starter, able to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications as well as a continuous improvement mindset. The ideal candidate would be capable in other areas of the shop including quality control, material preparation and metal fabrication and machining.
This is a new position for the business and we are looking to improve and establish procedures, structure, and best-practices.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mechanical, electrical and pneumatic assembly of Paper Systems and other assemblies.
- Review and understand assembly, part and schematic drawings.
- Assist Paper Systems Team with test setup and testing.
- Improve existing assembly and manufacturing processes.
- Assist with quality control including measurements with precision measuring equipment.
- Assist in other areas of the metal fabrication shop.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- 2 Year Diploma in a mechanical discipline or equivalent education.
- 3+ years of mechanical assembly experience. Electrical and pneumatic experience is an asset.
- Able to use an ERP to source information. ProShop ERP experience is an asset.
- Able to use Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and soft skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, and scheduling skills.
- Adaptable in rapidly-changing environments.
- Able to occasionally lift 40 lbs unassisted.
- Able to operate a sit-down counterbalanced forklift.
- Other abilities in metal fabrication or machining is an asset.
