Overview
The Freelance Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities, and providing recommendations to improve financial processes. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional who can work independently and provide strategic bookkeeping support to a growing business.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile company financial records
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Record and categorize transactions accurately
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Prepare monthly financial reports and summaries
- Assist with payroll tracking and reporting
- Ensure compliance with bookkeeping best practices
- Support year-end preparation for accountants and tax filings
- Recommend bookkeeping systems, workflows, and internal controls
- Collaborate with management regarding financial reporting and business growth planning
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience supporting small to medium-sized businesses
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and bookkeeping best practices
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required)
- Experience with bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
- Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management
- Experience preparing monthly financial reports and maintaining accurate financial records
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
Compensation
