Looking for an energetic person who is highly confident around groups of dogs of all sizes!
A successful candidate must be available fort at least 3-4 shifts a week including at least 1 weekend shift. Must also be available on holidays (including Christmas) as the kennel never closes. This position is for our Good Hound Country Facility and it is not on a bus route so a reliable means of transportation is needed. Dog handlers are responsible for managing play, ensuring safety and cleaning up after up to 40 + dogs in a dog daycare and boarding facility. A successful candidate will be comfortable with all breeds and sizes of dogs (10lbs to 170lbs), be ok with walking dogs and working in all weather, be patient and kind, will have some knowledge of dog behaviour and proper play and be ok with lots of cleaning. This job is not just cuddling and petting dogs all day. A successful applicant will be active and engaging with dogs, proactive in monitoring safe play and quick with the clean ups of accidents. Dog daycare is not a clean job! An ability to work, move and think fast and multi task in a hectic environment is crucial. It is a very active job! Finding joy in dogs is a must! You have to work well in a team but also independently. We also board cats, so you must also be comfortable with our feline friends.
