Overview
We are seeking a motivated, dynamic and experienced Independent Territory Sales Agent. This role offers the flexibility to operate independently while representing our brand and services. The ideal candidate will possess strong an existing product line and customers/location, great communication skills, sales experience, and a customer-focused mindset. As an Independent Agent, you will be responsible for building out new territory, promoting products, and building lasting relationships within your territory. Note: this is a commissions based role, please don't apply if you don't have any experience
Duties
- Promote and sell our products and services to new and existing clients through direct outreach and networking.
- Conduct commercial driving to visit clients, attend events, and facilitate product demonstrations as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by understanding client needs, answering inquiries, and resolving issues promptly.
- Manage merchandising efforts to ensure product displays are attractive and aligned with branding standards.
- Maintain organized records of client interactions, sales activities, and follow-up schedules using organizational skills.
- Collaborate with team members to develop sales strategies and improve overall performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sales, customer service, or related fields; experience in merchandising or pricing is a plus.
- Existing products sold on routes and territory
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse clients.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for commercial driving responsibilities.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing appointments, records, and follow-ups.
- Basic math skills for handling pricing calculations and sales transactions.

Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced in Route Sales: Background in the Canadian gift, pharmacy, or grocery sectors is a major asset.
- Existing route or territory
- Passionate Reader: The most successful agents understand our product and can help retailers curate their assortment to reach our primary demographic
- Self-Starter: Ability to identify and "cold-visit" independent retailers who have been underserved by traditional book distributors.
Compensation depends on the seniority of the candidate and is mostly performance based, % of invoice.
