Aloette is hiring a passionate & experienced Server to join our team. Experience in a similar restaurant is a strong asset. Open availability including brunch and dinner is a strong candidate.

Aloette, which opened on October 17th, 2017, is located on street level at 163 Spadina Avenue, two floors below Alo Restaurant and its adjacent barroom. Set along the street like a train’s dining car, it has transformed a space that formerly was a nail salon into a restaurant with booths and a long bar. Aloette offers a refined take on bistro fare paired with sophisticated and genuine hospitality.
Servers are the first to establish a connection and relationship with our guests. They fully understand that the guest experience is of the utmost importance. Their role is to guide guests through our menu with correct, comprehensive knowledge of the dishes, cocktails and wines that Aloette offers. Servers take ownership of their tables. They communicate as much as possible with the kitchen and fellow team members in order to give the guest the best possible experience. Servers never show signs of distress, they are gracious and genuine at all times. The following duties are expected of our Servers at Aloette:
- Display confidence & knowledge with all food & beverage offerings (cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and wine), ability to recommend, pair, and pour wine.
- Adding personal touches to ensure emotional connection with guests (celebrations are noted, guests preferences are remembered, etc.)
- Cleaning and setting up dining room & patio before service
- Stocking all side stands with paper, pens, paper rolls, etc.
- Greeting guests with water and explaining details of the menu and any specials
- Taking orders and punching them in with appropriate modifications
- Having first contact with chef and management regarding allergies or specific menu modifications
- Ensuring guests have drinks, condiments, and everything they need to have a great meal
- Ensuring bills are correct before presentation to the guest
- Cleaning and resetting tables, bussing tables after guests have departed
- Performing closing duties after all guests have left for the evening
- Ensuring wine offerings are properly stocked and chilled for service
- Ensuring payments are taken correctly and reports are accurate for management
- Running food & beverages
- Ensuring wine is properly stored after service, bottles are married, and empty bottles removed
- Ensuring the dining room is clean and organized after service, chairs and banquets crumbed, all tables cleaned, etc.
- Assist team with polishing at the end of service
It is integral to communicate and work in tandem with the team to ensure that guests’ needs are delivered in a timely manner. As such, Aloette operates with a tip pool.
Pay: $17.60 per hour
