Job Function & Responsibilities
- Responsible for new die builds, repairs and EC changes with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, quality and workmanship
- Must be able to interpret CAD drawings, part prints and GD&T, to plan the steps necessary for fabricating tools, dies, and/or assemblies
- Troubleshoot problems and make decisions ensuring that delivery dates are met
- Must be able to proficiently verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts using measuring instruments (calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers etc.)
- Set up and operate all tool room equipment with minimal or no supervision
- Must be able to assist in training, mentoring, coaching and motivating tool and die apprentices
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act regulations
- Ensure compliance with set health and safety policies and ISO9001:2015 awareness and adherence when carrying out job duties
Qualifications
- Certified Tool & Die Maker (preferred) or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10 years experience (preferred) in a jobbing shop environment, building new tooling
- Minimum 5 years in press troubleshooting and problem solving of compound, progressive and transfer dies
- Strong technical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, maintenance and materials
- Adept at coordinating the different stages of manufacturing to ensure seamless and cost-effective operations with on-time deliveries
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills with the ability to find creative solutions to manufacturing issues
- Ability to respond to urgent situations appropriately by prioritization
- Must have a detail-oriented approach to all tasks
- Multi-tasking and the ability to handle the unexpected
- Flexible problem solver with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Pay: $28.00-$36.00 per hour
