Job Title: AZ/DZ Driver – Full-Time
Rate of Pay: $24.00 per hour
Hours: up to 42.5 hours per week
HOURS: 7:30am to 4:30pm (Monday to Friday)
7:30am to 3:00pm (Occasional Saturdays)
Brae-Con Building Supplies/BMR Pro is seeking a reliable and hard-working Driver/Delivery Person to join our team at a retail building materials and lumber yard in Elmvale, Ontario. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of heavy and large merchandise to customers and assisting sales personnel. You will play a key role in ensuring that customers receive their orders in a timely and professional manner while upholding the highest standards of service and safety.

Key Responsibilities
· Delivery and Transportation: Safely transport heavy and bulky building materials and lumber to customers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
· Load and Unload: Assist with loading and unloading materials and merchandise, ensuring the proper handling of goods and compliance with safety protocols.
· Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain vehicle maintenance records and perform light vehicle upkeep (e.g., checking oil, tire pressure, etc.) to ensure vehicle safety and reliability.
· Delivery Documentation: Check delivery documents, ensuring all required signatures, forms, and receipts are obtained as per company procedures.
· Report Issues: Advise the supervisor of shortages, damaged goods, or any issues related to the delivery. Report customer complaints professionally and relay them to the appropriate department for resolution.
· Health and Safety: Follow all health and safety protocols when operating company vehicles and during the loading/unloading of materials.
· Security and Documentation: Maintain proper security of merchandise during delivery and ensure all delivery documents are kept accurate and secure.
· Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service by ensuring deliveries are made according to the customer's specifications and addressing any concerns or issues professionally.
Requirements:
· Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs on a regular basis.
· Valid Driver’s License: Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
· Vehicle Operation: Ability to operate company vehicles safely and lawfully, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
· Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail when checking documents, ensuring all signatures and necessary paperwork are completed accurately.
· Customer Service Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and team members.
· Health & Safety Compliance: Ability to follow health and safety protocols, including the safe handling of materials and the operation of company vehicles.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
· Previous experience in delivery or a similar role within the retail building materials or lumber yard industry is an asset.
· Familiarity with safety protocols and vehicle maintenance procedures is preferred.
