We are currently seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting office in Carleton Place.
Position Overview: As an Accounts Payable Administrator, you will be an integral part of our finance team, responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all accounts payable transactions. Your role will involve handling invoices, reconciling statements, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may include:
- Process invoices, verifying and entering accurate account coding and timely payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accounts payable files and documentation thoroughly and accurately.
- Post charges and payments to internal expense accounts
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
- Prepare bank deposits via on-site cheque scanner
- Assist with month-end closing tasks, including accruals and reconciliations.
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve invoice-related issues and enquiries
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts payable or related role
- Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian HST and ITC reconciliation
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effectively manage multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy across daily, weekly, bi-monthly, and monthly tasks.
- Excellent phone and in person communication skills with the ability to problem solve effectively and provide personable, professional customer service.
- Knowledge of real estate industry practices is an asset but not required
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 18 months
Pay: $45,000.00-$48,000.00 per year
