Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various aspects of construction, including carpentry, concrete work, rebar, and the operation of heavy equipment. This role offers an opportunity to work on bridge rehabillitation projects. Candidates should be committed to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous learning in a fast-paced environment.
This position will be on construction projects based throughout Newfoundland. Primarily it will be a 10 & 4 shift. Company Lodging will be provide, a company vehicle will be provide to a member of the crew to transport everyone from a set location if you wish to use it.
This position will be paying LOA if working away from your home location.
Duties
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute project plans
Perform concrete forming, finishing, and related tasks to ensure durable and high-quality results
Operate power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently on various construction sites
Execute carpentry tasks such as framing, forming, and woodworking projects
Handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper posture and technique
Working at heights will be required.
Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment
Skills
Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and concrete finishing techniques
Experience with concrete forming, carpentry, rebar installation, and woodworking
Ability to operate power tools such as saws, drills, grinders, equipment
Knowledge of heavy equipment operation for lifting and moving materials on-site
Strong understanding of construction safety standards and best practices
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail for precise craftsmanship
Physical stamina for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and working in various weather conditions
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors
