Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cardiac Sonographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will perform high-quality echocardiographic imaging to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and medical terminology, along with excellent technical skills to operate ultrasound equipment effectively. The Cardiac Sonographer plays a vital role in providing accurate imaging results that support patient care and clinical decision-making.
Duties
- Perform echocardiograms and other cardiac imaging procedures with precision and attention to detail.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explaining processes and ensuring their comfort throughout the imaging session.
- Operate ultrasound equipment, adjusting settings to obtain optimal images for interpretation.
- Analyze images for quality and clarity, ensuring they meet diagnostic standards.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and healthcare professionals to interpret results and provide comprehensive reports.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.
- Adhere to safety protocols, infection control standards, and hospital policies during all procedures.
- Stay current with advancements in cardiac imaging technology and techniques through ongoing education.
Requirements
- Certification or licensure as a Cardiac Sonographer or Echocardiographer from an accredited program.
- Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to cardiology and diagnostic imaging.
- Prior experience performing echocardiograms is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided if necessary.
- Strong technical skills with ultrasound equipment and image analysis.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to healthcare regulations and standards.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple patient procedures efficiently.
- Current registeration is in good standing with CMRITO/Credentialed with Sonography Canada and or ARDMS
- Experience with GE Vivid machines is an asset.
- 1 year experience in a similar role performing Echocardiograms/Stress Echo and Contrast Echo is an asset.
- Available to work on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 am till 5pm.
Pay: $40.00-$42.00 per hour
