About The Role
We are seeking a compassionate and professional Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) to join our allied health team. Mandarin and/or Cantonese language skills are considered a strong asset, as we support diverse resident populations and strive to provide culturally responsive care.
This is a part-time role, with a commitment of 1–2+ days/shifts per month. For those seeking additional hours, there is an opportunity to work across multiple retirement residences in our network. A regular monthly schedule will be established based on your availability, with flexibility around specific days and hours. As part of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide on-site massage therapy services tailored to the needs of seniors, supporting mobility, relaxation, pain relief, and overall wellness.
Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic massage treatments to residents, adapting techniques for older adults and their unique needs.
- Assess residents’ physical condition and develop safe, individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with Perennial standards and your provincial massage therapy association.
- Educate residents and families on the benefits of massage therapy and complementary wellness practices.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other allied health partners to ensure coordinated care.
- Participate in allied health clinic days, wellness events, and resident engagement initiatives within homes.
- Uphold the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and patient care.
Qualifications
- Licensure/Registration: Current registration and good standing with the recognized provincial professional massage therapy association.
- Experience: Prior experience with seniors, clinical or retirement settings is an asset.
- Direct Billing: Experience with insurance direct billing is considered a strong asset.
- Skills: Strong therapeutic, communication, and assessment skills.
- Professionalism: Compassionate, resident-focused, and committed to delivering safe, high-quality care.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work across multiple retirement residences if more hours are desired.
- Documentation: Comfortable using electronic charting and maintaining accurate records.
