About the Role
Neo Drywall Systems Ltd. is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Concrete Finisher & Polishing Specialist to join our team in Calgary. This position is ideal for a professional with specialized expertise in surface preparation, high-end polishing, and the application of self-leveling systems. Key Responsibilities
- Self-Leveling Systems: Expertly prepare, mix, and apply self-leveling underlayments and toppings to achieve perfectly flat and level surfaces.
- Concrete Polishing: Operate heavy-duty planetary grinders and hand-held polishers to perform grinding, honing, and polishing (from matte to high-gloss finishes).
- Surface Preparation: Perform crack repairs, joint filling, and patching to prepare floors for final finishes.
- Traditional Finishing: Spread, level, and smooth freshly poured concrete using rakes, screeds, and trowels.
- Sealing & Coating: Apply chemical densifiers, penetrating sealers, and specialized coatings as required by project specs.
- Quality Control: Monitor curing processes and ensure all surfaces meet architectural standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of proven experience in concrete finishing, specifically with self-leveling and polishing projects.
- Proficient in operating power trowels, industrial grinders, and dust extraction systems.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of site safety protocols; valid CSTS-2020 and WHMIS certifications are highly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation to job sites across Calgary.
- Journeyperson certification in work experience
- English-Spanish Language
