Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes such as curries, tandoori items, biryani, naan, wraps, appetizers, and vegetarian specialties.
- Follow restaurant recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
- Prepare ingredients including cutting vegetables, marinating meats, making sauces, and preparing spices.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely including tandoor, grill, fryer, oven, mixer, and steamers.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen according to food safety regulations.
- Store food properly and monitor freshness, stock rotation, and expiry dates.
- Assist with inventory control and inform management about low stock items.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared on time during busy service hours.
- Work with kitchen staff and helpers to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
- Follow health and safety procedures and maintain a clean workstation at all times.
- Assist in menu preparation and special catering orders when required.
- Train junior kitchen staff or helpers if needed.
- Reduce food waste and maintain cost control practices.
- Handle customer dietary requests and spice-level adjustments when required.
- Support opening and closing kitchen duties daily.
Pay: $18.25-$22.00 per hour
