ABA Community Team Member – Leisure & Recreation Programs
Part-time | Waterloo, Ontario
Elemenoe supports kids and families through collaborative ABA and speech-language programming, delivered from our Waterloo and Burlington clinics. Alongside our clinical work, we run community-based leisure programs that bring ABA support directly into real recreational settings, not simulated ones, so kids can build skills in the same places their peers play.
We're looking for a reliable, energetic Community Team Member to help run these programs this fall. This is a great fit for a university student who wants hands-on experience supporting kids in a community setting, with a schedule built around afternoon and after-school hours.
Programs You'd Support
On the Mat: a supported Taekwondo program in partnership with D'Souza Martial Arts Academy in Waterloo.
In the Game: a multisport and recreation program at RunRec in Waterloo, running after school hours.
Both programs run once weekly, afternoons, through a 16-week program. Exact days and times to be confirmed in interview.
What You'll Do
Work alongside our RBT/ABA staff and community facility instructors to support kids during sessions, helping with transitions, lineups, equipment, and staying with the group. Act as an extra, consistent set of hands so support ratios stay strong and every kid gets the attention they need. Help kids follow session routines and facility rules, modelling good sportsmanship and teamwork. Support day-of logistics: attendance, check-in/check-out with caregivers, setup and pack-up. Communicate professionally with parents, facility staff (D'Souza Martial Arts, RunRec), and the Elemenoe team. Follow direction from supervising ABA/RBT staff on how to support individual kids. No independent clinical programming required.
Who We're Looking For
Currently enrolled in a university or college program (any discipline). Reliable and punctual, this role depends on consistent weekly attendance. Comfortable and patient working with kids and youth, including those who may need extra support. Good communicator, calm under pressure, works well as part of a team. Prior experience with kids, sports/recreation, camps, or coaching is an asset but not required. Must be available for the full 16-week fall session and able to commute to Waterloo (D'Souza Martial Arts Academy / RunRec). Standard First Aid/CPR-C certification is an asset. Vulnerable Sector Check required prior to start.
