The Role
We have an immediate opening for a Shipper/Receiver reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager. The successful candidate will execute all shipping and receiving activities in support of our fabrication shop operations.
Responsibilities
- Process inbound and outbound shipments including booking freight, completing BOLs and packing slips
- Gather, package, and prepare parts orders for shipment to clients
- Compose professional emails to clients with shipment details
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming materials and supplies against purchase orders and packing slips
- Match and verify MTRs to ASME code and purchase requirements
- Accurately enter received and consumed materials into the inventory management system
- Distribute materials and supplies to designated fabrication areas
- Organize and maintain warehouse storage areas
- Operate forklift and other material handling equipment safely
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation
- Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities
- Ensure safe handling of materials and a clean work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 2 years shipping, receiving, and logistics experience (industrial environment preferred)
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain
- Experience with inventory management systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Accurate data entry skills and computer proficiency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to manage workload in fast paced setting
