Apprentice Responsibilities:
Role
Reporting to the Foreman-Shop, assist in maintaining, repair, and overhaul of industrial equipment under the guidance of a journeyperson, gaining practical skills and knowledge through on-the-job training.
· Assist with diagnostics and repairs of rotating equipment
- Experience with engines and generator a is Major asset
· Assist with inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul and repair of various components of a variety of heavy equipment
· Working from repair manuals, diagnostic equipment and online resources
· Complete detailed, clear and concise work orders
· Clean and prep parts and materials used in repair and maintenance of heavy equipment
· Use hand and power tools to complete daily tasks
· Keep shop and work area clean and tidy
· Other duties as assigned
Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician-Shop
Role
Reporting to the Foreman-Shop, this highly skilled tradesperson specializes in maintaining, repairing, and overhauling heavy industrial equipment. Monitoring and mentoring apprentices and shop hands with a special emphasis on safety, quality and technical expertise.
Responsibilities
· Diagnostics and repairs of rotating equipment
· Inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul and repair of various components of a variety of heavy equipment
· Diagnose complex issues and develop effective solutions.
· Working from repair manuals, diagnostic equipment and online resources
· Complete detailed, clear and concise work orders
· Clean and prep parts and materials used in repair and maintenance of heavy equipment
· Use hand and power tools to complete daily tasks
· Train and mentor less experienced technicians
· Keep shop and work area clean and tidy
· Interpret technical drawings and schematics.
· Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and clients.
· Other duties as assigned
