We're excited to be opening a new locally owned Icebreaker retail store in Whistler and are looking for an energetic, customer focused Assistant Manager to help lead our team from day one.Icebreaker is known for its commitment to natural performance apparel, sustainability, and creating products that inspire people to connect with nature. As Assistant Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience, supporting store operations, and helping build a positive and engaged team culture.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Working alongside the Store Manager, you'll help oversee daily operations, motivate staff, and ensure every customer receives knowledgeable and personalised service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leadership, outdoor lifestyles, and building a successful retail business within the Whistler community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support all aspects of daily store operations.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and act as a brand ambassador.
- Lead, coach, and motivate team members to achieve sales and service goals.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance development.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards and store presentation.
- Monitor inventory levels, receive shipments, and support stock management.
- Help manage schedules and staffing requirements.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve concerns professionally.
- Support opening and closing procedures, including cash management.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and team oriented workplace culture.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Previous retail leadership experience in a supervisor, keyholder, or assistant manager role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for customer service and team development.
- Interest in outdoor recreation, active lifestyles, and sustainable products.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced retail environment.
- Strong organisational and problem solving skills.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive compensation ($26 per hour or a salary of $54,080 annually, based on a 40 hour work week).
