North Country Property Maintenance Inc. is seeking reliable, hardworking individuals to join our winter snow removal team as Sidewalk Shovelers.
Positions are available in the following locations:
Barrie, Innisfil, Orillia, Angus, Sarnia, Sudbury, Simcoe, Woodstock, Waterloo, Cambridge, Owen Sound, Highland, Beamsville, Peterborough, Bracebridge, Huntsville, Newmarket, Aurora, Ancaster, Toronto, and Wasaga Beach.
This is a seasonal, on-call position requiring availability during snow events. Shifts may occur at any time of day or night, including early mornings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays. Successful candidates will help keep customer properties safe, accessible, and free of snow and ice throughout the winter season.
The expected start date is November 15, 2026, with a mandatory in-person training session in mid-October.
Job Duties
- Manually remove snow from sidewalks, walkways, stairs, entrances, and other pedestrian areas.
- Apply salt and ice melt to help maintain safe walking surfaces.
- Safely operate snow shovels, snow blowers, and other winter maintenance equipment.
- Monitor and report icy areas, hazards, property damage, or other concerns to supervisors.
- Complete assigned snow removal routes efficiently and according to company standards.
- Maintain safe and accessible pedestrian areas during and following snow events.
- Work safely and effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
- Provide professional and courteous service while working on customer properties.
Requirements
- Physically capable of performing demanding outdoor work for extended periods in cold, snowy, and icy conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsive when called in for snow events.
- Available for early morning, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts as required.
- Reliable transportation to and from assigned job sites.
- Must provide and wear CSA-approved winter work boots and appropriate winter outdoor clothing.
- Able to safely follow direction and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Previous snow removal, property maintenance, or landscaping experience is an asset, but not required. Training will be provided.
- A valid Ontario G driver's licence and clean driver's abstract are considered an asset, but are not mandatory.

Important Information About This Position
Snow removal is weather-dependent and on-call. Employees must be prepared to respond when winter weather events occur, sometimes with limited notice. Snow events may require work overnight, in the early morning, on weekends, or on holidays.
