- As part of the Alpha House team, this position is responsible for direct clinical services for women who have left an abusive relationship. This includes 1-1 counselling, group facilitation, advocacy and working with larger systems coordinating support.
- Degree in relevant field(Psych, SW, MMFT), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years clinical counselling experience working with women dealing with intimate partner violence and unresolved trauma
- Working knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence, mental health, and addictions
- Proven case management skills
- Sensitivity in dealing with women and children in crisis, from diverse classes, sexual orientation and ethnicity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to uphold ethical principle standards and regulations of relevant professional bodies and the organization
- Ability to work under pressure and make decisions within the parameters of the job.
- Working knowledge of community resources
- Satisfactory Abuse Registry and Criminal Record Check
