Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with diverse abilities and acquired brain injuries, helping them live independently and thrive in their communities. Your work will directly enhance the quality of life, comfort, and safety of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support in the community and in clients’ homes
- Assist with daily living tasks such as:
- Attending appointments
- Banking and budgeting
- Meal preparation and housekeeping
- Encouraging community inclusion and building meaningful connections
- Promote independence while respecting personal boundaries
Education & Experience
- Community Support Worker Diploma or equivalent education in a related field (preferred)
- Experience supporting individuals with diverse abilities and/or acquired brain injuries (preferred)
- Strong understanding of professional boundaries
- Valid driver’s license and clean abstract (required prior to start date)
- Ability to obtain a Criminal Record Check for working with vulnerable adults (required prior to start date)
- Additional training/certifications considered assets:
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
- FoodSafe Level 1
