Job Overview
The Café Supervisor plays a key leadership role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of Buffalo Stone Café. This position ensures consistent, high-quality guest service, supports coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house teams, and leads service execution across the café, BX Boardroom, Lakeside Room, and Field Station. The Café Supervisor assists with inventory management, menu specials, staff training, and event transitions to ensure smooth operations seven days a week.
Duties
- Supervise daily cafe operations, including food preparation, serving, and cash handling using Micros POS systems
- Manage and motivate staff to ensure high levels of customer service and operational efficiency
- Oversee food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations
- Coordinate kitchen activities such as cooking, food handling, and ensuring quality control
- Train new employees on food preparation, POS systems, customer service protocols, and safety procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure overall guest satisfaction
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with hospitality standards
- Assist with restaurant management tasks including scheduling, reporting, and staff evaluations
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within the food service or restaurant industry
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros or similar platforms
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
- Previous restaurant management or hospitality leadership experience preferred
- Background in hotel or barista service is a plus but not required
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to lead a team effectively
- Demonstrated ability to manage cash handling processes accurately
- Experience conducting interviews and training staff members in fast-paced environments
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in hospitality, café, or restaurant environments.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a small team in a fast-paced, service-oriented setting.
- Basic knowledge of food safety, inventory management, and café operations.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours during event periods.
- Commitment to sustainability, inclusivity, and ethical food service practices
- Must have valid drivers license, and access to a vehicle.

Pay: $17.04-$18.50 per hour
