Position Description
Under general direction, the Production Specialist is responsible for all physical aspects of sign production. Sign assembly includes preparing substrates and using the proper machinery, tools, and techniques to construct high-quality products according to written instructions and work orders.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Assembly
- Follow layouts to precisely place computer-cut vinyl or full-colour graphic images onto predetermined substrates or mediums.
- Prepare substrates for vinyl application, which includes cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, and maintaining the substrates.
- Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images (techniques vary depending on size, vinyl type, and design complexity).
- Safely operate and maintain wide-format printers, laminators, and other production equipment.
- Perform finishing operations such as laminating, encapsulating, and/or mounting printed pieces.
- Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting Work Orders, then proofing finished products for errors or defects.
Installation & Off-Site Support
- Perform professional sign installations at customer locations or other off-site venues as required.
- Safely load, unload, transport, and store raw materials and finished products.
Inventory & Maintenance
- Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the Centre Manager, Production Manager, or Franchisee.
- Clean and maintain production, storage, and retail areas to ensure a safe, organized workspace.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and minor equipment repairs as necessary.
- Collaborative Support & Customer Service
- Serve as a backup for the Graphic Designer as required.
- Practice the brand mentality of "Everybody Sells" by actively identifying and communicating sales opportunities for the centre.
- Assist at the front counter and serve as a backup for answering phone calls when the franchisee, manager, or sales team are assisting other clients.
- Understand the sales and consultation process sufficiently to discuss projects with customers and help determine appropriate solutions.

Typical Physical Demands
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs (approx. 22.7 kg) or more.
- Physical flexibility to lean over waist-high assembly tables and use repetitive, controlled hand motions to apply vinyl letters and graphics.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure to output high-volume, high-quality work.
- Proficiency and safety in using light power equipment and hand tools.

Experience
- Prior experience in sign production and manufacturing or warehouse environments preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts or similar material handling equipment required.
- Familiarity with packaging processes within a manufacturing setting is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to manufacturing and warehouse operations.
