Working with the Town of Newmarket’s Recreation and Culture Team, means the opportunity to make a difference and connect with your community! The Successful Candidate Will:
1. Be responsible for the planning and program delivery of private, semi-private and group tennis lessons, including feedback and evaluation of participants.
2. Assisting the recreation programmer and head pro with planning, directing, and overseeing the high-performance junior program.
3. Provide quality customer service to participants, parents/guardians, and the general public. Respond to program feedback, enquiries, and requests promptly.
4. Communicate and document any concerns to the Recreation Programmer (health and safety, attendance, participants, equipment, inventory, facility spaces).
5. Respond to emergency situations including performing minor first aid and/or arranging for medical assistance.
6. Provides a leadership role for other coaches and instructors, including support for lesson plans and coaching strategies.
7. Assist in keeping lesson curriculum up to date.

1. Minimum 4.0 NTRP playing level required.
2. 5 years+ experience working in a club environment with all ages and skill levels.
3. TPA Coach 2 certification or higher is preferred.
4. Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification required.
5. Current High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development and High Five Sport certifications required.
6. Availability/flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
7. Due to the nature of the contacts of this position a Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town is required.
Please Note: Certifications are not required at time of application but must be obtained prior to job commencement. The Town of Newmarket may offer opportunities for certification.
Disclaimer: Candidates whose Standard First Aid certification expires after June 22, 2026 must renew their certification through a WSIB-approved provider and obtain the new Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C certification at candidates own cost.
