Millwright Apprentice – Hydraulic Piping Systems Job Summary
Advanced Piping Systems is seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Millwright Apprentice to join our growing hydraulic piping team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in industrial maintenance, hydraulic systems, and specialty piping applications.
Working alongside experienced technicians, you will receive hands-on training in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hydraulic piping systems used in industrial and manufacturing environments. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of hydraulic piping systems and related equipment.
- Support routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Participate in preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and performance.
- Assist with field installation projects, including pipe fitting, tube bending, flushing, and pressure testing.
- Support fabrication and welding activities under the supervision of qualified personnel.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment while adhering to company and client safety standards.
- Collaborate with experienced technicians to diagnose and resolve mechanical and hydraulic system issues.
- Complete apprenticeship training requirements and actively participate in ongoing skills development.
- Willingness to travel within Western Canada
Qualifications & Skills
- Registered Millwright Apprentice or strong interest in pursuing a Millwright apprenticeship.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in hydraulic systems and industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Experience or exposure to tube bending, pipe fabrication, hydraulics, or welding is considered an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites when required.
